John Cena in the new Transformer's Bumblebee spin off? Say it isn't so!
So according to The Hollywood Reporter's John Cena has signed on to play a roll in the new Transformers spin off called Bumblebee.
Now I don't know about you guys but being as the last movie I saw from John Cena was Trainwreck; an awkward scene comes to mind of him humping Amy Schumer, as he played her surprisingly insecure boyfriend was not so flattering. I'm not so sure as to what John Cena's role in the movie will be, as the movie is taking place in the 80's and I'm almost positive that the fashion of that time will not be kind to him.
Here's the synopsis of the movie.
The story is set in the year 1987, where Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
I will admit that based on the synopsis above, I'm at a loss when it comes to picturing John Cena in an action movie, let alone a Transformer's spin off. Physically of course he's perfect for action movies, considering the fact that he's muscular and... he has a marine cut?
Now what's interesting is the fact that Bumblebee is set to premiere in theaters on December 18th. What other movie premire's on that day, with another spectacularly built human being? Why Aquaman of course, with Jason Momoa, playing the lead. Now this competition at the box office is something I can't wait to see.
